The Bar-B-Q Man Restaurant has been serving authentic Texas-style barbecue since 1977, founded by Malcolm Otis DeShields Sr. Over the years we have expanded to include a full-service restaurant, bar, event venue, and catering. Though we’ve grown, our roots remain deep in Corpus Christi, now proudly run by the third generation of our family.

All of our menu items are prepared on-site and overseen by the DeShields family, just as it was when we first opened in 1977. For lunch or dinner, Monday through Friday, The Bar-B-Q Man Restaurant serves a wide selection of our own freshly smoked and barbecued meats.
Full-Service Catering
The Bar-B-Q Man Restaurant & Catering can provide a full meal for groups from 2 to over 2,000 people.
We proudly serve Corpus Christi, Portland, Rockport, Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, Kingsville, and communities across South Texas.
Our on-site catering is often available with as little as 12 hours’ notice, depending on facility and staff availability.
